Silver Surfers take to the Computer Waves
Over 50s in Jersey are being offered the opportunity to learn about the Internet as part of Silver Surfer Week (22 to 26 May).
AP Courses is launching a ’Silver Surfer’ programme aimed at mature individuals who have not had the opportunity to learn ’surfing’ skills in the course of their daily lives. Topics covered in the course include basic Internet searching, buying online and e-mailing in addition to many other world wide web skills they might require.
’Silver Surfer Week’ is aimed at encouraging older people to discover the Internet and how it can help them stay in touch with friends and family, meet new people, bank, shop and book holidays online and even research their family tree.
In today’s technological world, many people never know the joys of modern communication because they think it is too complicated.
