ECDL Advanced
ECDL Advanced is a new higher-level programme certifying mastery of elements of the ECDL core. Designed to build on the ECDL certification, ECDL Advanced is the logical progression for individuals who have achieved their core ECDL certification and who wish to further enhance their skills and knowledge and to demonstrate their competence in using a computer at a higher level.
ECDL Advanced is an intensive programme that awards Candidates with a higher-level certification at the successful completion of each module. ECDL Advanced covers the following areas:
- Advanced Word Processing
- Advanced Spreadsheets
- Advanced Database
- Advanced Presentation
As its name suggests, the Syllabus for the Advanced suite of modules is over and above the skills sets and core knowledge contained within the respective core ECDL Syllabus modules.
The Advanced level designation for these modules anticipates that Candidates have already mastered the skills sets and acquired the specific knowledge outlined in the core ECDL Syllabus and are now ready to move on to a higher level.
Syllabus content for the ECDL Advanced Level programme has been developed with inputs from the ECDL expert working groups, comprised of professionals with wide-ranging specialist IT skills and through consultation with courseware providers and end-users.
ECDL Advanced is about helping people take full advantage of the broad capabilities of different applications. On completion of the programme Candidates will be certified as experts in the use of these applications.
